Inspired by the music of one of the most iconic pop culture licenses of all time, main composition was assigned to Tee Lopes, the talent behind the music of Sonic Mania and Streets of Rage 4: Mr X’s Nightmare. His musical vision echoes the spirit of the turtles and this specific game specificities: tributes to classic TMNT tunes with a good dose of fun and switching fluidly between 80s/90s electro, funk, rock, and jazzy tunes with chiptune vibes.

On top of that, prestigious guests were added to the line-up. We’re proud to host legends such as Raekwon The Chef and Ghostface Killah from the legendary rap band Wu-Tang Clan, and Mike Patton, frontman of Faith No More and Mr Bungle. They all performed exclusive tracks recorded specifically for the game and the OST.

For this limited edition, Kid Katana Records teamed up with illustrator Zombie Yeti, a recognized official TMNT artist with a very distinctive hand-drawn style. Inspired by the music of one of the most iconic pop culture licenses of all time, the TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge OST composed by Tee Lopes, was totally remixed in the spirit and aesthetics of a NES soundtrack. Sean Bialo (Penny’s Big Breakaway, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind, Double Dragon Gaiden) supervised the whole sound identity and remixed most of the tracks. Several guests were invited to add their own touch:

Anamanaguchi, the legendary chiptune-based pop & rock band from NYC behind Scott Pilgrim vs. the World OST, remixed the banger “Panic In The Sky!”

Jake Kaufman, the composer of some great chiptune VGM OSTs such as Shovel Knight remixed “It Won't Fly!”

Button Masher, Grammy Award Winning Video Game Music Artist and frontman of the current chiptune scene took over “Rumble In The Zoo”

Keiji Yamagishi, one of the Ninja Gaiden series 80’s composers and considered as a pioneer of chiptune music, produced the 8-bit version of “The Lost Archenemies”

Tomoya Tomita, member of Konami’s sound team in the 90’s and part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project remixed “A Few Screws Loose”

This 23-track double LP follows the game’s meditative vibes with minimalist orchestral tracks that give each instrument its place in a colorful soundscape. Influenced by neoclassical artists like Nils Frahm or Max Richter, the piano genius Guillaume Ferran worked closely with the game team to craft this memorable piece of music. Jusant won the Best Audio Award at Pégases 2024.

Kid Katana Records teamed with Quantic Dream and Parallel Studio to release Under the Waves OST composed by Nicolas Bredin, a first of its kind product!

This double LP is a 21-track piece of art influenced by Icelandic composers (Valgeir Sigurdsson and Ólafur Arnalds), and post-rock bands (Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Radiohead). Standing as a profound embodiment of the game’s narrative, it also resonates with the game’s partnership with Surfrider Foundation Europe to raise awareness on plastic pollution and its devastating impact on our oceans.
That's why we had to find the most eco-friendly solution to release a physical edition: these vinyls will be manufactured through the brand new Biovinyl process — which means without using any plastic — and a specific work was conducted on all the other aspects of the product to make it as sustainable as possible:

Plastic-free disc production: Under the Waves OST vinyl is the first of its kind to be manufactured without the use of any plastic, as all petroleum in S-PVC is replaced by recycling used cooking oil or industrial waste gasses. The ISCC PLUS certification obtained by the manufacturer even guarantees a sustainable supply chain. Plus this vinyl comes in a nice transparent green color.

Eco-friendly packaging: this 2xLP gatefold packaging is made of 100% recycled paper and cardboard, and printed with sustainable inks made from plant oils

Eco-friendly design: we set up a minimalist approach throughout the whole design to save the use of paper and ink: no printed booklet, no large plain-colored full-surfaces, only 1 color used (more visuals to come!)

High-quality audio: while focusing on sustainability, there is absolutely no compromise on the quality of the music which has been tested and approved before manufacturing.
